When conducting a test of hypothesis, we decide whether to reject the null hypothesis or not to reject it. In doing so, we can incur in the following error:
do not reject the null hypothesis when the null hypothesis is indeed false
This error is called an error of the second kind or a Type II error.
Go to the lecture entitled Hypothesis testing for more details about Type II errors.
